  Although I was dismayed that the travel agent booked me a smoking room when I am a nonsmoker, the staff at the hotel was able to change my room to nonsmoking when I arrived. The very appealing St. Charles historic district is just blocks away--very convenient when you don't have / want a car to travel.

  This is a very nice hotel in a very scenic part of St. Charles. It is next to the Ameristar Casino so evening entertainment is available. Near St. Louis and shopping as well.

  From the first moment we checked in, this hotel was not a good place. The rooms were never vacuumed and the mirrors had spittle on them, which is probably still there. The bathrooms were okay but how this place rated three stars is beyond me. The staff were lazy and rude and had to be asked twice for everything. I was with my nearly blind 82 year old mother and I was scared for her safety because the parking situation is grossly inadequate and we had to walk up a hill at night when we got back after dark. There is a Comfort Inn very close by, I would stay there next time. I felt the staff was always angling for a tip, especially the housekeeping staff. Also the value for the money was not there. The breakfast was okay but the fat content is very high and they should consider that some people actually like to eat healthy food. I want my money back!

  Wife and I stayed in a Jaccuzzi Suite for our 30th Aniv. and had a fantastic stay! Everything was perfect and beyond expectations. Morning breakfast saved money and was really good! All staff members were friendly and helpful. This was really a pleasant surprise and made for a wonderful getaway. Stone toss away from the casino was a nice bonus. Busy street outside which our room faced but yet we never heard any street traffic. We will be back to stay again!
